Paulding County commissioners approve vehicle purchases, construction contracts and retirement plan amendment

The Paulding County Board of Commissioners approved a series of contracts and an amendment to the county retirement plan during its February meeting, voting by voice on each motion.

The actions included the purchase of county vehicles, an award for a transfer-station project, supplemental engineering and right-of-way agreements for road projects, a utility-relocation contract tied to the Bobo Road roundabout, a fire-truck repair contract and formal adoption of a resolution to apply for a federal transit grant.

The approvals were presented and adopted by voice vote during the meeting. Funding for the purchases and contracts comes from a mix of county funds identified during the meeting: state contract pricing, the fire fund, the general fund, SPLOST (referred to in the meeting as “spots” funds), the renewal and extension fund, and the county fire tax.

Most prominent among the votes was approval to purchase multiple patrol and county vehicles from Hardy Family Ford under state contract pricing for $700,534.80, with funding noted as coming from state contract sources and the fire fund. The board also awarded the Paulding County Transfer Station scale house project to Rayland Construction for $1,151,018, to be funded from the general fund.
