Lake Forest Park committee finalizes Climate Hub opening, outlines events and outreach push

The Lake Forest Park Climate Action Committee confirmed plans for a public opening of the Climate Hub on Oct. 12 from 10 a.m. to noon and set public tabling at the local farmers market on Sept. 14 and Oct. 5 as part of outreach and volunteer recruitment efforts.

Committee members said the hub’s mural is finished and that organizers have ordered a large bulletin board to display rotating content and partner information at the hub. The board will measure about 14 feet wide by 4 feet tall and will include climate-stripe graphics, partner “bubbles” with QR codes, and other printed materials ahead of the opening.

The hub’s online presence will be anchored by an Instagram account, lfp.climate.hub, which had roughly 91 followers at the time of the meeting. The committee discussed using Instagram to collect signups and sharing a link tree or simple landing page as an interim website. Committee members also discussed reserving a web domain (suggested name: LFP Climate Hub) and eventually adding a dedicated website to host signups and a donation link.
