The Paulding County Planning Commission recommended approval of a rezoning request by All Construction Company Inc. to rezone about 1.92 acres on Macklin Road from R‑2 suburban residential to B‑1 general business for a proposed 5,000‑square‑foot office.
Jonathan Jones of Elite Engineering, representing the applicant, told commissioners the family that owns the lot intends to move its construction office there and that the proposal meets the county comprehensive plan and the future land‑use map. Jones said there is no intent to store construction materials on site and that the applicant will work with Paulding County Department of Transportation on access and any required deceleration lane tied to a larger road project (PR399 improvements).
Staff recommended approval with four stipulations. Commissioner Aston moved to approve the rezoning with staff‑recommended stipulations; the motion was seconded by Commissioner Steele and passed by a 6–0–1 vote. The Planning Commission’s recommendation will go to the Board of Commissioners for final action at the next hearing; the applicant must be present for the Board meeting, staff said.
Public comment included a resident who raised concerns about sight distance and an on‑site stream; the applicant said state waters along the rear property line limit building area and the site plan includes a master detention pond designed to meet buffer and impervious setbacks.
