City planning staff updated commissioners on progress in the comprehensive plan update, saying nontechnical chapters are tentatively scheduled for release in late October and that technical chapters (including land use, transportation, housing and climate) and the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) are expected later in mid-December.
Casey Downey, a planning staffer working on the comp-plan update, told the commission the set of nontechnical chapters will be published around Oct. 22 and will be accompanied by a website launch, newsletter and a series of four drop-in public workshops across the city.
