The Nantucket Select Board on Thursday heard announcements that a year‑round deed‑restriction pilot has launched through the Nantucket Affordable Housing Trust, and that a public survey and the annual town‑meeting citizen warrant process are open.
Libby Gibson, speaking for town staff, said, “We have a year round deed restriction pilot program, which is now open. It has just launched through the, Nantucket Affordable Housing Trust. It offers financial incentives to preserve or create year round housing, and eligible homeowners, property owners, and homebuyers may now apply.” Gibson said application details are linked on the Select Board meeting agenda and are available online.
Gibson also described a short online survey on the “future of our island home,” which is open until Oct. 31. “Feedback will help us determine the best path forward,” she said, and directed residents to the agenda for the survey link.
Town staff additionally announced that the May 4, 2026, annual town meeting warrant is open for citizen warrant article submittals through Monday, Nov. 17, at 4 p.m. The announcements said Town Counsel will be available for consultations on citizen warrant article language on Wednesday, Oct. 15, from 10 a.m. to noon and Thursday, Oct. 16, from 4 to 6 p.m.; registrants will receive a Zoom link. The meeting agenda contains registration and contact information.
The announcements were made during the Select Board’s remote meeting and were presented as informational items; no board votes or policy decisions were recorded on these items during the session.
