Pulaski County Fiscal Court: minutes, ordinances, appointments and purchases approved

The Pulaski County Fiscal Court on July 24 approved routine minutes, adopted an ordinance expanding allowable special‑purpose vehicles on county highways, confirmed a library board appointment, accepted a state grant for a drainage repair, and voted to authorize multiple departmental purchases and hires.

The court approved the minutes from June 20 and July 22 after a motion by Mr. Wilson and second by Mr. Strunk. It then completed the second reading and adoption of an ordinance that opens most Pulaski County highways to certain special‑purpose vehicles, excluding the parkway; the ordinance was adopted by motion of Mr. Wheldon and second by Mr. Wilson and will be signed by the clerk before it takes effect.

The court appointed Mike Walker to the Pulaski County Library Board by motion (mover recorded as Mr. Rancho, second Mr. Strunk). The court also passed a resolution accepting $48,800 in matching funds to replace a failing drainage/culvert section on Squibbaino (described in the meeting as a recurring washout) and authorized the county’s agreement to receive and spend that money; the motion passed following a motion by Mr. Ranshaw and a second by Mr. Sprunk.

A separate resolution concerning a portion of Old Kentucky 80 — described by staff as a split of the old roadbed to enable the sale of land adjacent to a gas station and to grant access to a church — was approved after staff explanation.
