Committee authorizes update to Breese Stevens Stadium agreement; operator says no THC beverages planned

The Finance Committee on Aug. 25 authorized the mayor and clerk to execute an amendment to the Breese Stevens Stadium use and operating agreement with Big Top Events LLC to update limitations on alcohol sales.
Connor Kaloyah, a registrant representing Big Top Events LLC, told the committee the operator does not currently sell THC‑containing beverages at Breese Stevens Stadium and has no plans to do so, citing insurance and coverage burdens: “We currently do not sell those beverages, and at this time, do not have any plans to do so. We have, candidly, found the insurance… to be properly covered, too burdensome to sell those products.”
The item was moved, seconded and approved with no recorded objections. Staff did not present additional changes beyond the amendment language in the agenda item.
Next steps: the executed amendment will be filed with city clerks per the authorization granted by committee.
