The Stanton City Council approved a professional services agreement to provide back‑end processing for parking and administrative citations, including an electronic ticketing workflow and an online appeals process.
Staff said the city will institute a one‑week warning period when the new enforcement begins. "We're gonna have a grace period, to where we can give you a violation warning... For 1 week only. So you have 7 days to reform," a council member told the public during the discussion. The goal, staff said, is to address chronic illegal parking that affects safety and public‑safety responses.
Doug Amos, client service manager at TrueWorld Data Systems (the processing vendor referenced in the staff report), said the company has provided parking processing to the city for more than a decade and noted recent enhancements including electronic ticketing ("esites") to speed issuance and support the warning process. Amos said the vendor handles online appeals and compiles paperwork for city review; the city retains final authority on appeal decisions.
The council pulled the consent item for discussion and then approved the agreement; staff said the city has integrated the vendor's system with parking enforcement partners and will coordinate with law enforcement and code enforcement on enforcement priorities. Council members emphasized that the intent is to increase safety and code compliance while giving motorists an initial chance to correct violations.
