The Springdale Town Council voted Oct. 8 to partner with America250 Utah and to accept a stipend memorandum of understanding to support local events tied to the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.
Rick Whitson presented the item and said the state has invited municipalities to participate in a statewide program of events. The partnership includes a local logo variant for Springdale and a $1,500 stipend the town can use for promotional expenses. The town plans to tie the celebration to existing community events and may add lectures or history programs.
Councilmember Kyla Topgum moved to approve the partnership, Resolution 2025‑10, the logo‑use agreement and the stipend MOU and to authorize the mayor to sign; Pat Campbell seconded. The council voted unanimously in favor.
Staff said the local committee will coordinate events and notify the public about opportunities to participate.
