Board members asked about English‑learner progress and supports. School leaders said the school adds full‑time instructional aide positions funded by site allocations to provide small‑group support and ELD (English Language Development) instruction, and highlighted a 90/10 dual immersion model that contributes to English‑learner growth. The principal said the school is financing four full‑time intervention teachers to support literacy and mathematics in grades K–6.
Board members and staff also discussed academic results presented earlier in the meeting. The presentation cited 2024 California assessment results showing improvement in English language arts (ELA) and math indicators for Arroyo Vista; district staff noted the school received a green rating on the California Dashboard and that 50.8% of students met or exceeded standards in math and 51% in ELA (as reported by the school at the meeting).
A motion to approve the renewal passed unanimously. The board congratulated Arroyo Vista staff and community members who attended the meeting in support of the renewal.
