The Committee on Business and Economic Development approved the reappointment of Cheryl Doggett as a public member of the Washington Convention and Sports Authority Board of Directors on Wednesday.

Chair Kenan McDuffie moved to draft the committee report with legal staff for technical, editorial and conforming changes; committee members responded "aye" and the motion carried by voice vote.

The resolution, introduced July 14 at the mayor’s request and referred to the committee on Sept. 17, would confirm Doggett for a term ending May 16, 2029. The committee record states Doggett has served on the authority board since 2014 and is president and treasurer of Doggett Enterprises, Inc., the parent company of Doggett’s Parking Company. The presentation also listed prior civic roles including chairman emeritus of Heroes, Inc., board positions with the D.C. Police Foundation, the Greater Washington Board of Trade and the National Symphony Orchestra, and prior service with the Federal City Council and the Commission for Women.

No committee members requested further discussion before the voice vote recorded in the transcript.
