The Tulsa Metropolitan Area Planning Commission (TMAPC) met Oct. 15 and issued a series of recommendations on rezoning cases, land‑use map amendments and subdivision preliminaries. Most votes were unanimous and recommended approval to the City Council.
Votes at a glance (as reported during the meeting): - Rezoning application CO21 (Southwest corner E 603rd St S and S 150 E Ave): TMAPC approved 9‑0 and forwarded to council with recommendation for approval. - Resolution 2946‑1075 (land‑use map amendment near S E corner of 501st St S and Delaware): TMAPC voted 9‑0 to recommend approval. - Rezoning Z7833 (Southeast corner E 501st St S and Delaware) to CG with ODP: recommended 9‑0. - Rezoning Z7832 (multiple parcels for industrial use, BESS/Elion Energy discussion): recommended 9‑0 (planning staff recommended IM zoning) with further site‑level conditions. - Preliminary plats and minor plats (Green Hill Phase 3, other industrial and residential plats) were recommended with standard conditions by staff; most received unanimous affirmative votes.
Staff presentations explained that several corridors are transitioning from scattered residential to mixed commercial and industrial uses and that many rezoning cases were intended to align zoning with current development patterns. Commissioners noted limited neighborhood opposition on many of the cases but asked for conditions or optional development plans to limit intense uses near homes.
TMAPC actions in the meeting are recommendations; final approval or ordinance actions remain with the City Council. Specific case numbers, staff reports and technical conditions are included in the planning office’s agenda packet.
