Secondary roads update: new dump truck delivered; culvert grouting and Murray Bridge grant reapplication planned

County roads staff told supervisors they recently took delivery of a new dump truck and are advancing several maintenance and capital projects, including culvert grouting, box culvert installation and shoulder work on Gotch Park Road.
Staff said GroutScouts has inspected about 18 locations and will return to perform internal culvert grouting in the next weeks to address voids around pipes under hard surface roads. PCI was reported to be delivering a box culvert for Iowa Avenue, with installation expected to complete within days.
Crews have begun pulling material and widening shoulders on Gotch Park Road and are staking right‑of‑way for additional spot drainage projects requested by farmers. Staff said much of the work is routine maintenance and is coordinated through the county shops.
On Murray Bridge, preliminary plans have been approved by the state Department of Transportation and a hydraulic review is underway. County staff said they will reapply for a raise/flood grant this year as part of a seven‑county group; the county was denied in the previous round and staff said the applications had scored highly but funding availability was reduced.
Ending: Staff said they will continue routine maintenance projects, pursue the grant application for Murray Bridge and begin installation work as culvert deliveries and contractor schedules allow.
