Committee approves up to $60,000 for professional IT services from Microsystems Inc.

The Waukegan Finance & Purchasing Committee on Aug. 18 approved a resolution authorizing the IT department to procure professional services from Microsystems Inc. for an amount not to exceed $60,000.
Staff told the committee that professional services are exempt from formal bidding under the same procurement-code provision referenced for the prior item (section 2-458 subsection I-4). The staff recommendation requested authority up to $60,000 and identified the same GL line family for funding. Alderman Martinez moved the resolution and Alderman Florian seconded.
A roll-call vote recorded unanimous approval by those present (Aldermen Newsome, Florian, Bolton, Felix, Martinez). The resolution passed and staff may proceed under the city’s procurement rules and the professional-services exemption cited in the staff report.
