The Waynesboro City Council took the following recorded or clearly stated final actions during its Oct. 15 meeting:

- Appointment to Economic Development Authority: Council appointed Mary Sullivan to the Economic Development Authority for a four-year term ending Aug. 31, 2029. Vote: unanimous (5-0).

- Wastewater loan intent resolution: Council adopted a resolution declaring the citys intent to reimburse eligible expenditures from the proceeds of a borrowing for wastewater treatment plant improvements. Staff said the city has been approved for a $9,040,000 loan with up to $2,712,000 in principal forgiveness. Vote: unanimous (voice vote recorded as aye).

- Tabling of regional animal shelter MOU: Council voted to table the proposed memorandum of understanding regarding a regional animal shelter at 1011 Lee Highway in Verona so staff could vet recent changes to the draft MOU. Vote: unanimous (voice vote recorded as aye).

Other items were introduced for future consideration (rezoning and CUP for Waynesboro High School parcels, CUP for the General Wayne Hotel conversion, and an ordinance to appropriate $1,010,000 for wastewater engineering) and were scheduled for final action at the Oct. 27 meeting.
