The Design/Development Review Commission (DDRC) approved the consent agenda and the minutes from its September meeting during a routine vote at the commission’s session.
Staff read three items placed on the consent agenda, including a request for a certificate of design approval for a mixed-use development in the Upper Five Points Design Overlay District (TMS 11405-07-17) and a certificate of design approval for a single-family home at 1108 Queen Street in the Old Shandon/Lower Waverly protection area. Staff noted a typo in the published agenda and said the staff recommendations provided to commissioners applied to 1108 Queen Street.
The commission moved and seconded approval of the consent agenda and minutes; staff then called a roll call vote. Miss Gallo, Mister Ledecker, Mister McKenzie, Mister Salibi, Mister Shelton and Miss Thomas each voted yes and the motion carried. Staff described the consent agenda as a mechanism to "approve noncontroversial or routine matters by a single motion and vote." The motion’s mover and seconder were not identified in the meeting transcript.
Commissioners also were informed of three changes to the regular agenda before the meeting’s substantive business: the application for a certificate of design approval at 1125 Haygood Avenue in the Melrose Heights–Oak Lawn architectural conservation district was deferred; an appeal concerning window replacement at 805 Whaley Street in the Whaley Street protection area was withdrawn; and a request for a certificate of design approval for an outbuilding at 830 Maple Street in Old Shandon/Lower Waverly was deferred. Staff said there were otherwise no items on the regular agenda that evening.
