San Benito CISD trustees approve broad consent agenda and personnel actions

The San Benito CISD Board of Trustees approved a multi-item consent agenda and later approved employment resignations, retirements and terminations as discussed in closed session.

The consent agenda covered curriculum and library actions, campus and district improvement plans, class-size exemptions for the 2025–26 school year, application for the Learning Acceleration Support Opportunities (LASSO) grant, multiple financial reports (cash account, revenue/expenditure comparisons, tax collection, check disbursements, quarterly investments and federal funds), gift approvals, budget amendments, purchases over $50,000, and several procurement items, including an award of RFP 0925 for pest control services as recommended by administration. The consent list also included approval to add the assistant superintendent of finance and operations as a signer on district financial accounts and approval of compliance with the Ray Baum’s Act dispatchable location requirement for 911.

A trustee moved to approve all consent items and a second was recorded; the chair called the vote and the board approved the entire consent agenda by voice vote. The transcript records the motion and second but does not include a roll-call tally for each consent item.

After a closed-session discussion of personnel matters, the board approved employment resignations, retirements and terminations as presented in executive session. The superintendent asked the board to approve the personnel actions discussed in closed session; trustees then approved the item by motion and second.
