Planning staff: draft values for Imagine Kalamazoo 2035 coming soon; site-plan reviews continue

Planning staff reported to the Kalamazoo City Planning Commission on Sept. 4 that the Imagine Kalamazoo 2035 master-plan process is progressing and that a draft of the plan's stated values and goals will be published soon.
The staff update said the draft values and goals will become the criteria the Planning Commission uses when voting on future proposals once the master plan is adopted. The planner urged commissioners to review the materials when they are posted to the city's website.
Staff also described the current site-plan list: projects shown are those in full site-plan review and progress through a checklist-based process. Staff said a few new applications have been received and that, while some projects are winding toward approval, more projects are expected to move forward into the fall review cycle.
No substantive policy proposals, ordinance changes or formal votes were recorded on these items during the Sept. 4 meeting.
