Planning commission continues Brigantino minor subdivision to Nov. 19 for additional agency coordination

Victor Tafoya, associate planner with San Benito County, asked the Planning Commission on Oct. 15 to continue PLN 250045, the Brigantino minor subdivision at 748 Bellotto Road near Tres Pif1as, to the Nov. 19 planning commission meeting to allow the applicant and public works staff to resolve a few outstanding review comments.
Tafoya said the clarifications are minor and that staff does not anticipate changes to the project scope, layout or required findings. He recommended the commission continue the public hearing to Nov. 19 so re-noticing would not be required.
One member of the public spoke during the hearing. Seth Capron, identified at the meeting as representing Aromas, asked the commission to consider agricultural impacts. Capron noted that the staff report says "no new construction is proposed" but said granting a five‑acre parcel subdivision conveys entitlements that may lead to future construction and that nearby parcels in the Williamson Act could be affected over time. He urged the commission to ensure it can make any required findings that the subdivision will not adversely affect agricultural use.
After public comment, a commissioner moved to continue the item to Nov. 19, 2025; a second was given. The motion carried on a recorded vote of four in favor, none opposed. Commissioners present and recorded on the vote were Richard Wei, Robert Scagliotti, Robert Gibson and Bobby Thomason.
No new evidentiary materials or changes to findings were adopted at the Oct. 15 meeting; staff will return with an updated record addressing the outstanding public works comments before the Nov. 19 hearing.
