County counsel issues RFP for forensic accounting into library embezzlement; final report targeted for early 2026

Responses to the RFP are due Oct. 31; counsel said staff expects to present a recommended bidder to the board on Nov. 18 and hoped to award a contract at that meeting.
The county counsel said the target date for submission of the final forensic report is in February 2026 and the firm is expected to present findings to the board at the March 10, 2026 meeting. The counsel added the county administrative officer will assist with contract administration throughout the process and that staff will try to complete the audit before Feb. 28 if possible.
