Superintendent Taylor introduced Dr. Mario Navarro, noting his more than 11 years of research experience and said Navarro will join the department of shared accountability. Dr. Navarro stood with his family while the board considered the appointment.
The appointment vote was recorded as unanimous by voice vote; the motion and second were given during the meeting and the board chair declared the motion carried.
