Officer Forgy of the Nixa Police Department reported 580 calls for service and seven arrests during the department's weekly wrap-up.
Forgy said the department completed 141 traffic stops, responded to three car crashes (two noninjury and one injury), and took 41 reports.
On arrests, Forgy reported that the department made seven arrests, including three driving-while-intoxicated stops and arrests on three warrants. He later said the arrests included "1 felony arrest" and "6 misdemeanor arrests." The transcript does not specify whether those categories overlap.
Forgy highlighted community outreach: "we would just like to say we're proud that we graduated 75 students. Fifth graders in the DARE program at John Thomas School Discovery last Tuesday," he said. He also thanked younger students: "We just wanna thank all the first grade students at Century Elementary for bringing us that awesome poster with all the little tickets on it and all the little cards."
On recruitment, Forgy invited prospective applicants to consider the department: "If you're interested in an exciting career in law enforcement, come work for us at Nixa Police Department. Go to join nixapd.com." He closed the wrap-up by repeating, "this is your weekly wrap up."
