Lieutenant Straum of the Nixa Police Department said the department handled 696 calls for service this week, conducted 292 traffic stops and made eight arrests, according to the department's weekly update.

The report said officers made one K-9 deployment (K-9 Jack) and responded to eight vehicle crashes, five of which were non-injury and three of which involved injury. The department recorded 47 reports taken during the period.

On arrests, Lieutenant Straum said the department made eight arrests: "1 for DWI, 2 for narcotics, 4 for warrants," and added that "2 of those were felony arrest, and 6 of those were misdemeanor arrest." The update did not further reconcile whether the charge categories overlapped or whether they describe distinct arrests.
