The Design Review Board on Thursday approved a request to divide an existing storefront sign at 275 South Main Street into two vinyl panels to serve separate upstairs and downstairs tenants.
Jeremy Watson, the applicant and property owner at 275 South Main Street, told the board he planned to keep the sign the same size and simply apply vinyl to display the two new tenants. One tenant was identified in comments as Tea and Honey Haven; the lower tenant was identified as Align Pilates.
Board members discussed visual details during the public hearing, including preserving the sign's existing black background, maintaining a white metal border, and leaving a thin black edge between the two new panels so the signs read as separate but cohesive elements. A board member recommended using a clean, neutral typeface (Helvetica medium was suggested) and advised simplifying the bee logo so it reads well at storefront scale. Watson indicated those changes could be implemented.
A motion to approve the application with the suggested design changes was made, seconded and approved by voice vote. The motion text on the record was "Motion to approve with the changes." The meeting record shows the board voted in favor; specific vote counts and the names of the mover and seconder were not specified in the transcript.
Earlier in the meeting the board also approved minutes from its Sept. 18, 2025 meeting by a separate motion and voice vote; again, the transcript does not list vote tallies or which board members made and seconded that motion.
The board noted no additional public commenters on the application. The meeting adjourned with the next meeting scheduled for Nov. 20, 2025, as needed.
