The Town of James Island adopted a mid‑year budget amendment after hearing an explanation from Finance Director Mike Hammer.

Hammer told the council the amendment reflects a modest revenue increase of $34,477 and expenditure reductions of $266,400, primarily because certain capital projects will be paid from a hospitality‑tax fund (H‑tax) rather than the general fund. He described the net improvement to the town’s budget position as approximately $300,000.

Council approved the ordinance amending the Fiscal Year 2025–26 budget at first and second reading as required; a roll call vote showed unanimous support.

The finance director said staff will continue to monitor revenues and expenditures throughout the fiscal year and bring additional adjustments to council if needed.
