The Colonial School District curriculum committee discussed the district’s text-selection process and a plan to ensure district websites and digital tools meet updated Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) that take effect April 24, 2027.

During a committee recap reported to the full board, administrators said textbook and classroom library selections follow American Library Association (ALA) guidelines and involve literacy teams, administrators and the curriculum department. District staff told the board that a WCAG compliance rollout is in place that will include vendor review, professional learning and an ongoing review of district practices.

"Mr. Bogley emphasized that all websites, tools, and communications must meet these standards, including vendor provided resources and content," the transcript records. Mrs. Burke outlined plans to meet the new success criteria to improve accessibility for individuals with disabilities and described a committee approach to training and review.

The board also noted the curriculum committee reviewed the recently approved conference requests and a first-read policy on electronic devices. Administrators asked for continued oversight as the district transitions technology and vendor contracts to meet the WCAG timeline.

The district did not provide cost estimates, vendor lists, or a detailed public timetable during the open session; those details appear to remain part of internal planning.
