"They came to us a little bit late, and asked if they could run a ice rink out at, Walmart," staff member Tanya said. "What they're gonna do is they're gonna have an ice rink, a 60 by 90 ice rink, and they're gonna have food trucks out there." Staff said the county coordinated with EMS, the sheriff and fire to ensure public safety coverage for the event.

Staff said the county will charge a usage fee and that the revenue from the rental will be "a little bit under $8,000" for the entire rental period. Commissioners expressed support for the community-focused event.
