Kenner council approves Treasure Chest warehouse; planning office says site meets requirements

The Kenner City Council on Oct. 17 voted 7-0 to approve Summary Ordinance No. 13,952, amending a 2022 ordinance to allow construction of an approximately 19,800-square-foot storage warehouse and about 40,600 square feet of new parking on Parcel D‑3‑A‑2‑A, a property owned by Treasure Chest Casino LLC.
Chris Lewinsky, director of planning, told the council the site currently is a surface parking lot for casino patrons and that the proposed warehouse would be located south of that lot with no direct access to Joe Yenny Boulevard.
