Janet (EDC staff) told the council the request was to "consider and possibly approve the budget amendment for this fiscal year 2025, in the amount of 500,000," and said she expected a public announcement on the underlying project soon. She told the council she had been told the EDC would provide additional information either that night or the following day.
Staff confirmed the funds would come from the city’s fund-balance carryover and be deposited into the economic development commitment account. A motion to approve the ordinance passed. During the recorded vote one council member recused themself from voting on this item; the council then completed the vote and closed the item.
