City Manager Greg (surname not provided) told council on July 15 that the city will hold a strategic planning and goal‑setting session the following evening, invited public participation, and encouraged council to focus on short‑term priorities because the budget process is underway.
He said staff expects to present a draft audit at the first August meeting and reported some disappointing fiscal results for the recent year (the draft audit remained in process at the time of the meeting). The manager said city street work is scheduled to start next week and that staff would post the list of streets online.
On park planning, the manager said staff will present a conceptual plan for Delwood Park at upcoming meetings and that additional public meetings will follow before a final design is selected. He also praised a recent downtown event as well attended and thanked downtown merchants and volunteers.
The manager reminded council that street repairs that involve replacing curbs or gutters can be expensive and that the city is evaluating those costs. He closed by encouraging patience from residents as street work begins and said staff will return with more details.
