The Johnson County Board of County Commissioners voted unanimously Friday to approve routine business on the consent agenda, including minutes, a two‑lot plat and five appointment resolutions.
The actions were taken at the Oct. 16 business session after brief staff presentations and limited discussion. The board recorded no public objections to the consent items.
The items approved were: the Sept. 25, 2025 business session minutes; preliminary and final plat for a two‑lot division of a 23‑acre parcel to be called Stevens Family Addition, Second Plat; and four appointment resolutions naming representatives to county boards and commissions.
The planning director, Jay Leipzig, told the board the Stevens Family Addition plat had received unanimous approval from the West Consolidated Zoning Board and had no public opposition. The board approved the plat on a motion to "approve preliminary and final plat for 2 residential lots to be known as Stevens Family Addition second plat" with Commissioner Brewer moving and Commissioner Myers seconding; roll call was unanimous.
Resolutions approved on consent: resolution 133‑25 (appointing Rod Richardson as the East Consolidated Zoning Board’s liaison to the Johnson County Planning Commission); resolution 134‑25 (appointing Hamdan Abdallah to the Board of Code Review); resolution 135‑25 (appointing Lisa Patterson Kinsey, Tim Janssen and Laura Carey to the Johnson County Consolidated Fire District No. 2 governing board); and resolution 136‑25 (appointing Nancy Ingram and Erin George to the Johnson County Mental Health Advisory Board). Each resolution was presented by staff or the sponsoring commissioner, moved and seconded, and passed on unanimous roll calls.

Why it matters: The consent agenda clears routine administrative and personnel matters that enable the commission to focus time on larger policy issues. Several appointments place community volunteers on boards that influence planning, code review, fire district governance and mental‑health advisory work.
What’s next: Appointees will begin their terms per the resolutions; the planning and plat approvals will be processed by county staff per standard land‑use procedures.
