Johnson County staff said Tuesday they will bring a final plat for the Nelson wastewater treatment facility before the Board of County Commissioners next week after combining 13 previously separate parcels into a single property.
The change is an administrative step necessary to finalize the Nelson project, Susan Pekaric, director of Johnson County Wastewater, told Vice Chair Hanslick and the commissioners. “So as part of the Nelson project the city of Mission requested that the county plat, the Nelson property. It had never been platted and it was 13 parcels,” Pekaric said.
Pekaric told commissioners the county did not acquire any additional land for the project; the plat merely consolidates existing parcels and confirms the property lines through a formal survey. She said the City of Mission has already approved the plat and that the board will be asked to approve it next week so the chairman can sign.
Commissioners asked whether the platation carried any fiscal implications. “No. No financial just Yeah. Yeah. Associated with that,” Pekaric said, indicating there was no direct budget action attached to the plat itself.
Commissioner Ashcraft asked about the benefits of the approach; Pekaric replied the consolidation is primarily administrative and provides an opportunity to confirm property boundaries and update records via survey work. The matter was introduced for consideration; no formal vote was recorded in the transcript portion of this meeting.
Next steps: staff said the item will be placed before the board next week for formal approval and chairman signature.
