Procurement staff said four bids were opened on Aug. 26 and Martinez Western was the lowest responsive bidder at $152,246.25. County facilities staff said concrete spalling and heaving had damaged stone veneer and exterior doors; an engineered scope was prepared. Commissioners approved the award by motion and voice vote and authorized the chair to sign the contract; staff noted the work came in over the originally budgeted amount, and that funds were transferred from a larger capital project that is not being completed this year.
