The Garfield County Board of County Commissioners proclaimed October 2025 as National 4‑H Week on Monday and authorized commissioners to sign the proclamation.

Sarah Riddle, adviser for the Garfield County 4‑H County Council, and young 4‑H participants attended the meeting. Commissioner Mike Sampson read the proclamation, which highlighted the national 4‑H theme “Beyond Ready” and noted 4‑H’s work through the Cooperative Extension System. "4‑H helps 6,000,000 youth become engaged, successful, and independent," the proclamation states.

The Board voted to approve the proclamation and directed staff to circulate the signed document; the proclamation was signed by Tom Jankowski, Perry Wiel and Mike Sampson.
