Sedgwick County opens two tag-office satellites after consolidation; officials urge state IT fixes

Sedgwick County Commissioner Jim Howell and County Treasurer Brandy Bailey outlined changes to the county’s motor-vehicle ("tag") operations and said the county opened two satellite locations this week to relieve pressure on centralized offices. The county consolidated the Kellogg and West Douglas (Douglas and Meridian) locations and set up satellite service at the Ruffin building (100 N. Broadway) and Haysville City Hall; both are operating by appointment only, officials said.

At a public briefing, Commissioner Jim Howell described the new satellites as part of a service and footprint change that began the prior day. "If you have an appointment, as Brandy said, please show up to your appointment. Don't just make an appointment and then not show up," said Brandy Bailey, Sedgwick County Treasurer. She and Deputy Treasurer Shannon Styles attended the briefing and answered questions about appointments, VIN inspections and paperwork needed for renewals and titles.
