Council recognizes Terrebonne Parish 4‑H youth ambassadors and state-level winners

Sherry Rozier, parish 4‑H youth department chair, presented awards and introduced program staff Wednesday as Terrebonne Parish 4‑H members were recognized for state and national competitions.
Rozier said the extension office supports agriculture, youth development, nutrition, health education and environmental stewardship across the parish and provided councilmembers with an updated parish profile and new office address at 876 Verette Street. She introduced several youth ambassadors and named individual accomplishments: Sophie Fernandez (multiple stock-horse and ranch-riding placings; qualified for a regional horse show), Ava Parra (timed-events champion for 14-and-over), Mikaela Rhodes (state visual-arts winner, qualified for National 4‑H Congress attendance) and Rebecca Theriault (first place in outdoor-skills individual state competition; educational trip prize).
Rozier also highlighted national-level success by Coben Trozclair in hunting-skills competitions and thanked volunteers and coaches who support the program. Councilmembers praised the 4‑H program and encouraged continued partnership; one councilmember suggested showing 4‑H equine events at the municipal arena when it is available.
