Board thanks law-enforcement partners after active drills; students and officers attend meeting

Board members publicly thanked the district’s police and security staff for conducting live drills and trainings during the year. A board member specifically commended Chief Shell and his officers for their work in conducting intruder and lock-down drills.

Chief Shell told the board that the "blind and intruder drills" held that day were "really good" and took place at four schools; the chief also thanked board members Mister Briscoe and Missus Clement for attending and observing the exercises. The board noted that several high school students and officers were present at the meeting and that the district values student engagement with public meetings.

Board members said the drills demonstrate the district’s ongoing attention to building safety; no policy changes or additional funding were proposed during the discussion.
