Council sets public hearing to consider vacating section of South Fairview Street

The Woodland Park City Council on Oct. 16 approved initial posting and scheduled a public hearing for Nov. 6 on a request to vacate a portion of the South Fairview Street right‑of‑way lying between Chester Avenue and Foster Avenue (east of Block 15 and west of Block 16, Foster’s Addition to Manitou Park), as requested by adjacent property owner Andre Brewington.
City staff described the request as a quasi‑judicial land use matter that had received a recommendation from the planning commission. Because the matter is quasi‑judicial, Mayor Case asked council members to refrain from discussion at the Oct. 16 meeting and preserve comment for the Nov. 6 hearing. Council then moved to set the hearing and approved Ordinance No. 15-10, Series 2025 on initial posting by unanimous roll call.
Staff indicated the item will proceed through the required public‑hearing process on Nov. 6, at which time the council will receive public comment and deliberate before taking a final vote.
