Council adopts annual bridge certification required for state off-system bridge replacement program

Public-works staff said the parish participates in the state program by having local bridges inspected and load-rated; the resolution establishes road limits on bridges included in the off-system program and authorizes posting those limits. The action authorizes staff to send the certification to the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development as required by the program.
Council members voted unanimously to adopt the resolution. Staff noted this is an annual administrative action that allows the parish to remain eligible for off-system bridge replacement funds and to set posted load limits where inspections indicate they are required.
