The Northwestern Lehigh School District Board approved a set of routine agenda items and consent contracts during its Oct. 1 meeting, including personnel resignations and appointments, several policies presented for first reading, a set of consent agreements and the 2026 board meeting calendar.
Board members voted unanimously to approve the published agenda and the minutes from last month and the workshop meeting. The board also approved the personnel actions listed on the personnel agenda, described by district staff as cleanup of substitute teacher listings and the appointment of new employees.
In a single action the board approved policies presented for first reading. The policies listed at the meeting included 7-27 (controlled substitutes/paraphernalia), 7-16 (integrated pest management), 7-17 (cellular telephones) and 7-18 (service animals at schools), plus a related group of operational policies identified later in the meeting (7-09 building security, 7-09.1 video surveillance recording on district property, 7-10 use of facilities by staff, and 9-18 Title I parent and family engagement). The board recorded no discussion against these items and approved them as presented.
Under the consent agenda the board approved items numbered 602–606, which the board secretary listed as: a Rocket Yoga assembly contract for Northwestern Elementary, two "agreements in lieu of" for students (described only as agreements for individual students), an overnight band trip, and the district reports filed with the board. The board approved the items by voice vote with no recorded objections.
The board also approved a Weisenberg Elementary in‑school mini golf event on March 6, presented at the meeting with a total cost of $1,594; the superintendent said the cost "will come out of the student" (the record did not specify which student fund).
Finally, the board approved its calendar of board and workshop meetings for 2026 as presented and adjourned after announcing upcoming executive sessions for personnel matters.
