The Dallas Housing Finance Corporation on Oct. 14 heard an extended briefing on the Gateway at Dowdy Ferry proposed multifamily development and expressed concerns about an adjacent, previously industrial parcel that has been the site of repeated illegal dumping and long periods of vacancy.
Jake (project representative) and staff summarized the site’s history: it had been used as a concrete-mixing or related industrial operation, went through multiple ownership changes, and subsequently experienced illegal dumping and limited site security. Developers and staff said the parcel has been gated and security cameras added, and recent visits showed no new dumping activity.
