Canton Township’s Artoberfest, held in the newly renovated Preservation Park in Cherry Hill Village, featured dozens of art vendors, a dozen youth vendors, live music and family activities, Recreation and Performing Arts Manager Laura Mortier said.
“We have dozens and dozens of art vendors, here anywhere from jewelry sales to wood crafts to flowers to fresh baked goods, as well as our youth vendors…we have a dozen, youth vendors that are under the age of 18 here selling their products and their art,” Mortier said. She described a live stage with jazz and polka music, a traditional Oktoberfest sign-holding competition, interactive chalk art for children and food trucks serving a variety of fare. The event ran from 12 to 6 p.m., Mortier said.
Mortier credited sponsors and partners, naming Brackney Chiropractic, Edward Jones and the Partnership for the Arts among supporters and noting police presence at the event. The transcript did not provide an attendance total or budget for the event.
Organizers said the venue is intended for family activities and youth engagement, and the presence of youth vendors indicates a focus on developing young creators. No safety incidents or formal action items were reported in the transcript.
