There was no recorded opposition to the motion. A motion to approve the policy was made and seconded, and the commission voted in favor.
The commission’s vote permits the State Police to request the legislative funds and proceed with the internal policy needed to administer the payments. The agency representative said the incentive will primarily benefit recruits who have no prior law enforcement experience, including many with military backgrounds.
