The Shreveport City Council voted on a set of resolutions and ordinances at its regular meeting, approving leases, endorsements and multiple infrastructure and procurement actions.
Highlights of the votes announced on the floor:
- Resolution 107: Authorized the mayor to enter a lease with Volunteers of America of North Louisiana for property at 1254 Texas Ave. Motion by Councilman Tyler Farrow, second by Councilman Brooks; clerk announced the resolutions passage "with 7."
- Resolution 109: Endorsed Shreveport REO LLC to participate in the Louisiana restoration tax abatement program (public hearing held; see separate story). Motion by Councilman Brooks, second by Councilman Jackson; clerk announced the passage "with 7."
- Resolution 111: Acknowledged the city councils review of the 2024 internal municipal water pollution prevention report concerning the North Regional and Lucas wastewater plants. Motion by Councilman Butcher, second by Councilman Jackson; clerk announced the passage "with 7."
- Resolution 112: Authorized the mayor to execute a cooperative endeavor agreement with Community Caregivers of Northwest Louisiana. Motion by Councilman Jackson, second by the chair; the clerk announced the passage as "with 14" in the meeting record.
- Resolutions 113 and 114: Purchasing-agent actions to reject bids for wastewater and riverfront drainage projects; motions carried with the clerk announcing passage "with 7."
- Resolutions 115, 116 and 117: Authorizations for individual properties to connect to the city water and/or sewer system; motions carried and the clerk announced each as passing "with 7."
- Resolutions 118 and 119: Council recognized October 2025 as Breast Cancer Awareness Month and October 2025 as Domestic Violence Awareness Month; motions carried and the clerk announced each as passing "with 7."
- Resolution 120: Recognized Victor Cortez Green for years of public service; motion carried and clerk announced passage "with 7."
Several ordinances were introduced for later consideration, and the council also moved to table final adoption of the 2026 budget to Dec. 9. For many items the clerk simply announced passage; the meeting record did not include a roll-call transcript for each member on every vote.
