A commissioner said a new company is locating in NWL (Snow Hill area) and will invest approximately $5,300,000 and bring about 60 jobs with average salaries near $44,000. Commissioners described the arrival as positive for Greene County.

Other announcements included a reminder that the state fair is underway and that senior-citizen day is scheduled the next day; commissioners also promoted Green Central High School’s band competition, noting it will host 28 bands and that gates open at 9 a.m. with competitions starting at 10 a.m. Admission was announced as $12.

Commissioners also offered informal items of local recognition, including congratulations to a local official appointed earlier in the day and suggestions for quarterly staff recognition programs.
