County to extend short‑term lease for copier fleet while RFPs are evaluated

Forsyth County Information Technology staff on Oct. 20 briefed commissioners on a proposed short‑term extension of the county’s copier/printer contract with Kelly Office Machines, doing business as Kelly Office Solutions, for four months while responses to a recent RFP are evaluated.
IT Technology Manager Jason Ring said the extension would cover the existing multifunction devices (copiers/printers), provide click‑rate printing on a monthly basis and include six months of licensing and support for the PaperCut subscription platform. Ring said the county put out an RFP through city‑county purchasing and had received five responses of six proposals and was evaluating them.
Ring presented the extension as a short, interim arrangement to maintain printing services while the procurement review continues. Commissioners had no further questions during the briefing.
The extension was briefed Oct. 20 and will be on the Oct. 23 agenda for formal approval.
