The Lawrence USD 497 Board of Education approved the consent agenda by a single motion on Oct. 20; the motion passed 6‑0 on a recorded roll call. The board described consent agenda items as routine matters adopted together unless a member requests separate consideration.

During the meeting the board also recognized a list of staff members retiring from district service and thanked them for their years of service. The board read a list of names into the record and expressed appreciation on behalf of the district.

Retirees recognized by name in the meeting record were: Kelly Barker; Gina Bactigla; Stephanie Bowen; Jennifer Dixon Perkins; Carol Harrell; Jackie Hood; Daniel Kasikas; Tawanna Lashley; Karen Leshman; Brian Law; Michelle Leaker; Julie Leibich; Angela Perkins; Jeffrey Pinsky; David Reber; Janet Roe Roevenstein; Julie Swartzing; and Michelle Thomas. The board asked for patience if any names were mispronounced and extended the district’s gratitude to those employees for their service.
