Port St. Lucie — At its recent meeting the City Council approved a series of ordinances and resolutions covering rezonings, property transactions, two utility-related code changes and an amendment to procurement rules.
The council approved two second-reading rezoning ordinances (25-46 and 25-47) that change zoning classifications for small parcels described in the agenda backup. Council also approved Ordinance 25-48, authorizing acquisition of property from Rosser Lakes LLC and a ground lease and access easement for portions of the site.
On first reading the council approved Ordinance 25-51 (water-rate increase), and approved Ordinance 25-52 to align the city’s irrigation conservation code with the South Florida Water Management District. The council also approved two small easement-abandonment ordinances (25-53 and 25-54) affecting rear utility and drainage easements on specified lots in the Port St. Lucie plat books.
Councilmembers approved Ordinance 25-55, an amendment to the city’s purchasing code to add exemptions for cybersecurity, physical security and fire-safety related purchases; staff told the council the change is intended to avoid publicly posting procurement details that could present security risks.
Resolutions approved included acceptance of a quitclaim deed for tract F (Resolution 25-R-52), authorization for the city manager to execute the DEP GRAMA agreement for Westport nutrient-reduction improvements (25-R-53), acceptance of a donation of real property from the Port St. Lucie Governmental Finance Corporation (25-R-54), and execution of a renewal and second amendment of an interlocal agreement relating to the Hog Pin Slough (25-R-55).
