The Sacramento County Board of Supervisors on Oct. 7 adopted a resolution confirming a levy of increased service charges for County Service Area No. 1 Zone 1 to fund improvements related to Sacramento Metro Fire District Station 67.

County Engineering staff described the Station 67 project as a 10,300-square-foot, three-apparatus-bay fire station on the east side of Bradshaw Road approximately 100 feet south of Vintage Park Drive. The parcel’s service charge category will change from a “safety light only” category (currently assessed at $2.56 annually) to the “enhanced street and safety light residential” category, which carries an increased annual service charge of $65.52.

The county received one protest ballot from the parcel’s legal owner, the Sacramento Metro Fire District. The ballot was counted as a “yes” in favor of the benefit category change; staff reported no majority protest, and the board adopted the resolution to confirm the levy. The board recorded no written protests and the tabulation showed 100% of the returned protest ballot amount was in favor of the change.

The hearing included the required opening and closing of public testimony; no speakers appeared to object during the public hearing. Board members moved to adopt the resolution, and the item passed unanimously with those members present.
