Robbinsdale board approves grant forms, accepts donations and adopts technical policy updates

Robbinsdale Public School District trustees approved routine business items Monday, including grant forms to the Minnesota State High School League Foundation, acceptance of monthly donations and a set of technical policy updates.
Executive Director Anthony Williams presented the Minnesota State High School League forms. Williams said the league’s Form A offsets activity costs for students who qualify for free and reduced-price lunch; his summary noted that for the 2024–25 year Armstrong had 653 students who qualify for free and reduced-price benefits and Cooper had 324 such students. He also described Form B as an application to the league’s foundation for grants that can support leadership initiatives, safety and transportation to reduce participation barriers. The board voted to approve Form A and then Form B; both resolutions were approved by voice vote.
The board approved its consent agenda, which included professional development reports, meeting minutes, financial reports and personnel reports. Director Bowman moved the consent agenda; the clerk conducted a roll-call vote and all present directors voted yes. The board separately voted to accept the monthly donations; that item also passed on a roll-call vote with unanimous support.
Board members also held a second reading and adopted multiple policy updates that staff described as “technical” changes reflecting state law updates. Director Wuto moved approval of the batch of policies (listed in the packet as 205, 301, 302, 303, 304, 306, 414, 418, 516, 5522, and 802); the motion was seconded by Director Bowman and carried on a voice vote.
What the votes mean: the Form A approval allows the district to receive league support to offset extracurricular activity costs for qualifying students; Form B authorizes the district to apply for foundation grants aimed at leadership, safety and transportation supports. Donations approved in the monthly acceptance provide small, routine resources for school programs. The policy updates were described by staff as non-substantive wording changes made to align district policies with updated state law language.
